Robust and Persistent Visual Tracking

Supported in part by NSF, ARO, NEC and Omron Corp.

The capacity of persistently tracking targets for a long duration is important for many fundamental vision tasks and applications. Recent studies over two decades have made good progress in understanding this problem, but left several basic challenges to be overcome for real-world applications. In recent year, we have been studying the following basic issues:

Research Issues

[1] Tracking Small Targets in Video
[2] Selective Attention for Robust Visual Tracking
[3] Context-awareness for Persistent and Long-duration Tracking
[4]   Differential Matching and Tracking
[5]   Model Adaptation and Dynamic Feature Selection
[6] Information Intergration and Belief Inconsistency
[7] Generative Models for Clutters/Occlusions
